Stamp duty exemption threshold increased for WA residents
A first home buyer in WA? There’s good news for you! The stamp duty exemption threshold has recently increased and this may save you thousands.
For purchases made after 21 March 2025, first home buyers will be exempt from paying stamp duty for house purchases in Perth and Peel up to $500,000 (saving you ~$18,000) and concessions on stamp duty will apply to home purchases up to $700,000 in Perth and Peel or $750,000 outside of these regions.
This will mean more money kept in your pocket if you fall within the thresholds.
